    The Curriculum Manager works closely with the Director of Education in our Workforce Development practice to ensure that all courseware and learning materials developed and delivered by Focal Point Academy result in an outstanding student experience.  He/she creates and manages courseware development lifecycles, working with course developers and SME’s to ensure course content is accurate and relevant, and that it is consistently presented in a modern, professional format.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions | Responsibilities:

    • Manages the development and maintenance of Academy’s training curriculum
    • Employs instructional design models (e.g. ADDIE) as appropriate to produce a systematic approach to managing course updates and development cycles
    • Prioritizes the development schedule based on delivery requirements and other factors, and ensures optimal use of development resources
    • Collaborates effectively with the training team to consistently deliver excellent quality course materials
    • Regularly reviews and analyzes client, industry, and SME feedback in order to address any shortcomings in course materials and to deliver constant improvement in the quality of courseware and the learner’s experience
    • Creates and manages timelines for new training development projects and ensures adherence to change & quality control policies
    • Works within a rapidly-growing training team to create scalable and repeatable solutions
    • Creates, refines and enforces policy and procedures for course development staff to ensure course development is both efficient and effective and results in the highest quality content
    • Works with external partners to establish and maintain systems for credentialing courses as well as awarding college credit
    • Leads curriculum development team establishing and upholding quality standards
    • Owns the course maintenance schedule and content delivery timeframes
    • Performs other duties as assigned by management

    Supervisory

    • Responsible for the supervision of the curriculum development team

    Qualifications

    Competencies:

    • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work with all levels of internal and external clients, from clerks to CEO.
    • Detailed Oriented: Strong attention to deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
    • Accuracy: Ability to deliver projects and all deliverables with accuracy and ability to supervise and lead staff toward error-free and accurate data.
    • Multi-tasking: Capable of managing several tasks, projects and client deliverables effectively, efficiently and on time, with accuracy to details and tasks
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills, and the ability to design and implement change. 


    Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or commensurate experience.

     

    Travel Required: Minimal travel may be required.

     

    Technical Requirements:

    • Intermediate to advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Intermediate to advanced experience with SharePoint or similar document management/version control platform
    • Intermediate to advanced desktop publishing experience
