    Responsibilities

    The Technical Project Manager is responsible for coordinating all of the end-to-end tasks comprising the firm’s multi-phase software development and integrations engagements. The Technical Project Manager will provide leadership and accountability for all key project areas, including:

    • Oversight of project status;
    • Managing project team resources;
    • Meeting and communicating project milestones;
    • Providing project updates and status reports; and
    • Monitoring all components of largescale implementations.

    The Technical Project Manager ensures that each phase of client engagements is on schedule, within budget, and completed in accordance to initially identified engagement standards. Additionally, they are responsible for identifying, resolving and escalating any and all risks, as needed, through the firm’s proper channels, ultimately ensuring a consistent and efficient delivery of final project deliverables.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Manage overall planning, execution and delivery of projects
    • Document architecture, development, and implementation activities, ensuring each engagement provides clients with the most value, cost savings, and risk management
    • Document and coordinate patches/releases, ensuring that all packages are deployed effectively and interfacing with technical teams to ensure any needed resolution of issues
    • Document and maintain version-controlled testing strategies
    • Document and manage project-level lessons learned
    • Track project statuses, and manage/escalate issues as necessary for mitigating risks
    • Ensure project milestones are met, or execute risk mitigation strategies if not met
    • Report project statuses, issues, and potential risks to leadership
    • Responsible for managing teams and third-party contractors, establishing and facilitating meetings, delivering timely project health and performance dashboards, and monitoring project-specific budgets
    • Create, maintain and communicate all project risk and issue logs, as needed
    • PMP Certification preferred

    Qualifications

    Required Skills

    • 5+ years of experience working with federal clients
    • 7-10 years of experience in technical project management
    • Planning and leading high-impact programs and assessments;
    • Presenting regular updates regarding risk mitigation and key accomplishments
    • Adjusting program activities and agenda, based upon the needs of the program
    • Managing multiple client and stakeholder relationships throughout major transformations
    • Balancing business stakeholders and a central technology service organization
    • Navigating a matrix organization
    • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders across functional and technical skillsets, as well as with IT resources to align security processes, evaluations, and tools.

    Travel requirement:

    • Up to 50% of this position includes travel, if candidate resides outside of the DC Metro area.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, or 4-year professional industry experience equivalency
