    Business Development Manager (“BDM”) is responsible for leading business development efforts within our Advisory services offerings specially our Governance Risk and Controls service offerings.  The BDM is expected to utilize their network of local contacts, professional organizations, and local partner knowledge to develop relationships, identify opportunities within targeted companies, and position Focal Point services.  BDMs will attend local conferences, travel to sales meetings, and work closely with partners in market to keep a steady pipeline of potential business.


    • Develop and maintain relationships with firm partners to facilitate and expand services projects through the partner’s network.
    • Targets key business executives to share the business value of Focal Point.  Identify potential clients and build solid partnerships.
    • Articulates and interacts effectively with a high degree of confidence to executives (typically CFO, CIO, Chief Audit Executives, Internal Audit Director, Chief Information Security Officer, IT Director).
    • Researches organizations through internal and external sources (licenses provided for key social media and data mining applications.)
    • Represents Focal Point at professional networking events such as IIA, ISACA, and FEI, as well as local, regional and national conferences.
    • Identifies needs of Fortune 1000 companies.
    • Delivers Focal Point’s message to business executives and develop interest into opportunities.
    • Builds and maintains a strong local business network.
    • Forges relationships with "cold” accounts.
    • Works with local Principals to introduce them to relationship network.
    • Completes all sales status updates, reports and other administrative deliverables.
    • Timely maintains Focal Point’s CRM environment with sales activities.



    • A minimum of five or more years of previous and relevant sales experience, preferably in the professional services industry, with a focus on Risk and Advisory sales.



    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent work experience.


    Technical Requirements:

    • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Experience with Salesforce.com, Data.com and other sales tools.
    • Governance Risk and Controls services, technology risk consulting sales, or risk and advisory sales process.
    • Strong technical understanding of sales process cycle.


    Travel Required: Frequent travel
