    The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller and Accounting Manager to maintain the accounting function at Focal Point. The Staff Accountant inputs Accounts Payable (vouchers) and Accounts Receivable (invoices), accurately accounts for expenses incurred (accrued or period), and maintains up to date GL reconciliations and account schedules. The Staff Accountant also assists in client billing efforts including collections.  The Staff Accountant also works directly with partners to address various financial issues timely and professionally.


    Essential Functions | Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates closely with co-workers and management across the organization.
    • Assists Focal Point accounting management with various reports.
    • Tactically involved in the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and cash receipts.
    • Assists with client billing and reconciliations.
    • Supports Controller and Accounting Manager in the preparation of monthly accruals.
    • Prepares journal entries for appropriate adjustments to balance sheet and income statement account.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by management.




    • 3+ years of Accounting or bookkeeping experience.
    • Working knowledge of Standard double entry accounting software.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area.

    Technical Requirements:

    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with major emphasis on Excel.
    • Experience with Intacct or similar software product is a plus.
