    The Project Financial Analyst (PFA) is an expert in the firm's engagement information management systems. Our AMCs assist the Practice Line General Managers and Engagement Teams (Client Serving Executives - CSE) with tasks related to engagement management and provide a ready resource for financial data and analysis.  The PFA’s responsibilities will include analysis of actual cost, preparation of monthly revenue recognition, project analysis, billings, accounts receivable, etc.  The PFA must be able to anticipate the needs of the CSE in order to prioritize their workload.  Proactively identifies and takes responsibility to resolve issues.  Overall responsibility for engagement management and economics rests with the CSE.



    • Works closely with the CSE to assist in the pricing of the engagement and to develop the planned engagement measures
    • Support the CSE team throughout the client acceptance, project set-up, engagement monitoring, and system changes to ensure records contain accurate and up to date information
    • Provide ongoing support to CSE in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting accounting and risk management issues
    • Reviews and monitors with CSE engagement economic measures
    • Proactively monitors client invoicing and proactively encourages billing for "out-of-scope" work.
    • Proactively monitors collections and works closely with the corporate collection specialist and CSEs to ensure proper collection activities occur
    • Serve as a subject matter resource in company related accounting and risk management systems
    • Act as a liaison with accounting team, providing quality control and resolving any issues
    • Performs special projects and ad hoc requests
    • Identifies trends impacting revenue recognition and profitability (forecast amounts, Actual vs. Budgeted Units impact, Earned vs. Actual revenues, net pass through review, labor / forecast mismatches, etc.) 
    • Provides client billing, analysis and resolution of issues
    • Ensures timely and accurate performance of work within project scope and objectives
    • Provides leadership by example, mentorship to other team members and consultative advice internally and externally
    • Capitalizes on opportunities to improve project efficiency, results of team efficiency




    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in accounting, finance, or business related major from an accredited college or university
    • Proficiency with the MS Office Applications, in particular MS Excel
    • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines




    • Excellent understanding of accounting concepts and experience with accounting information systems (Netsuite experience preferred)
    • Prior project accounting or analysis; preferably within a professional services environment
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate effectively and professionally with the consulting directors, accounting team and other key employees
    • Able to influence and persuade others
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to organize, meet strict deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team
    • Timely and accurate project reporting to include job cost tracking
    • Ability to process high volumes of work with proficiency and accuracy
    • Highly organized and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Consistently demonstrate a high level of accuracy in their work
    • Has the ability and confidence to get into the detail of the systems to a transactional level to find the cause of an issue, to understand that detail and the cause - and to solve it.
